Carried on the Ocean – Robyn Pedley

The ocean carries with it much treasure and living along the coast supplies me with continual inspiration. I also find interesting things which have been washed up along the shoreline which provide ideas for new artworks

The Atmosphere and Light Series are original, one-of-a-kind expressionistic artworks inspired by journeys in the landscape, observing it’s rich tonal colours and ever changing light and shadows. Ideas and memories forged while sitting on a riverbank, walking mountain peaks in mid-summer, watching the sun rise over wild oceans and setting over remote desert plains.

Fields of colour using multiple layers of complex acrylic glazes, blending, rubbing back in places, brushwork that seemingly dances across the surface with touches of colour suggesting landscape creating interest and depth.

Created using professional, artist-grade acrylic pigments and mediums on a premium 12 oz stretched canvas. The colours are carried around the sides and is ready to hang without the need for framing. The artwork comes signed on the front, signed and titled on the back and includes a certificate of authenticity.

About the Artist

Robyn’s works are inspired by her wonder of nature (both above and below the surface) and her inquisitive love of colour. Taking her view of a given landscape, re-interpreting and bringing a fresh perspective through her articulate use of colour, she allows the viewer to experience the beauty of creation around us.

Robyn Pedley is a full-time artist, co-director of Bobbie P Gallery and has completed a BFA majoring in painting and drawing at the University of Newcastle. She is an award winning artist, has held numerous solo and group exhibitions, and has works in both public and private collections both locally and internationally.
